Grain Aeration Controllers

This equipment consists of fans, transitions, ducting, controllers and accessories used primarily for protection of grain stored in bulk.

AC12 Aeration Controller
AC12

Completely automate your aeration fans to obtain optimum cooling using natural air.

The AC12 is an automated system designed to control your aeration fans to reach, and maintain, optimal cooling and aeration of grain stores using natural (ambient) air. This is achieved through the implementation of the ‘Time Proportioning’ method that was perfected by the Australian CSIRO. The cooling performance of the AC12 is enhanced through the use of wet bulb temperature sensing.

During its operation the AC12 keeps track of air temperature, relative humidity and fan operating hours automatically. It uses this information in its decision on how to operate the aeration fans. The time proportioning method maximises the use of naturally occurring cold air so that the grain in storage receives the maximum cooling effect. The use of wet bulb temperature sensing enhances the AC12’s cooling effect from that of using dry bulb temperature sensing.

The wet bulb temperature of grain is the best indication of the ability of grain insects to survive within a mass of grain, as it combines the effects of both temperature and moisture. Decreasing the wet bulb temperature of the grain mass to the lowest level possible using ambient air, minimises the ability of grain insects to survive. In this respect, the AC12 provides the best level of protection that can be obtained using aeration.
